Vaughan's stress levels reach a new high the day before the final merger consultation, and with Justin being threatened with exclusion for his part in the cyberbullying, the head teacher struggles to keep his professional and private lives separate. Lorna is shocked by the sudden appearance of her estranged husband at the school, but as he lends some much-needed expertise to the campaign, will she reconsider her feelings for him? Sonya makes a discovery about Guy that forces her to confront her guilty secret

As the bid to save Waterloo Road school appears to founder (and no wonder, what with the head’s son being permanently excluded for being a cyber stalker, and a liar among the staff, as the press unfortunately discover) a modern-day knight in shining armour rides up to help.
Lorna’s estranged husband Rob turns out to be a PR whizz and soon galvanises staff and pupils into action with a last-ditch media campaign. The place explodes with excitement. But it’s the bombshell dropped during the press conference that causes most damage. And as any possibility of avoiding a merger with Havelock High crumbles into dust, Rob reveals his true colours.
