Episode 4: Oathkeeper

Summary

In King's Landing, Jaime finally visits Tyrion in jail after some persuasion from Bronn, and he also has a mission for Brienne. Daenerys tries to balance justice and mercy in Meereen. At Castle Black, Jon asks for volunteers when Ser Alliser decides to let him go to Craster's Keep to deal with the mutineers. Fantasy drama, starring Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Kit Harrington

Review

Don’t feel sorry for Jamie Lannister. He doesn’t deserve it. Yes, the golden-haired golden boy has lost everything: his firstborn son, his unblemished looks, the affection of his sister-lover and, most importantly, his sword hand. Even one of his rare moments of heroism works against him. He killed the mad king Targaryen, saving thousands but cementing his reputation as the Oathbreaker.

Most likely it’s this dangerous reputation that protects him as he goes through a humiliating retraining regime, but he is for ever branded a snake. Even his friend (sort of) Brienne can’t quite trust him, although he trusts her with a highly personal task. That’s the thing about reputation. It’s a double-edged sword.
