And so eight series, thousands of grisly deaths and endless fan speculation comes down to this – the very last episode of Game of Thrones, and the closing chapter for what has undoubtedly become the biggest TV show in the world.

More than ever, details of this final instalment are shrouded in secrecy – crew members were reportedly kept to a minimum and had to have special badges to gain access to the set – but we’ve always been told the final farewell to Westeros would be “bittersweet”, so expect some tragedy among the triumph.
