"In previous years I've always been around women but I've always found it difficult to actually maintain something. Women just don’t seem to last that long — I think that’s because I'm such a strong character and I do get bored easily. I want to find someone who will take me away from that boredom."

What's your ideal date?

"To be thrown on an island with someone, share a meal, romantic music, watch the sun, look at the stars and just have a romantic night having sex and just talking. That would be nice, wouldn’t it?"

Why are you doing this show?

"I think I’d exhausted every other avenue of dating, I’ve been on all the apps, I’ve been poked on Facebook… I absolutely love the whole idea of falling in love on TV.

"As a gay guy too, I think the dating scene has been totally obliterated and I want to bring back old-fashioned love. That gay scene is so intimidating. Nobody wants to date any more because they're afraid and I more than anybody am afraid of falling in love. So I want to go out there and make the mistakes that they’re too afraid to make. I also want to bring some of those minds that might be a bit outdated right up to date."

What's your ideal date?

"I just literally want to have a decent date, just interesting. At the moment beggars can’t be choosers! My perfect date would just be successful. Just normal! I need to just be able to get to the end of the date..."

Why are you doing this show?

"I’m a little bit nervous going into it but I come across like an arrogant knob and I’m not at all. Over the course of the season we’ll see my character develop into what I actually am… that Nandos-eating, gym-going, latex wearing lad…there’s more to me than that.”

What's your ideal date?

"I’ve found that I get confused between what love and lust is. I've found over time when I'm sat with a girl, we don’t actually have much to talk about. So my ideal date is a place which looks over the Malvern Hills, have a picnic, watch the sunset and just chill out together, talk about rubbish."
