Episode 14: Episode 14

Summary

With its narrow roads and traffic offenders around every corner, Bermuda's police have their work cut out keeping motorists safe. Policing the west of the island are officers Imani Scott and Daischon Chin, while over in the east, Bermudian-born constable Peter-Paul Taylor is out on patrol being equally tough on traffic offences. This former soldier faces a dilemma when he stops a motorist dangerously riding a moped whilst using his phone, as he knows him personally. Officer Taylor later discovers the same man has an outstanding arrest warrant for unpaid court fines. Despite the man's best efforts to talk his way out of being put into handcuffs, the no-nonsense cop is having none of it. Officer Taylor reveals that he will deal with somebody he knows in exactly the same way as with a stranger. Elsewhere on patrol on the island are officers Carol Skerritt and Chris Douglas, who encounter an ill-tempered group of locals caught illegally drinking alcohol in public. At sea, British officers are out in force, policing more than 60 miles of stunning coastline. On board is the coastguard's James Wolfe. James was born in London, grew up in Essex and moved to Bermuda when he was ten. He went from being surrounded by fields to being encircled by an ocean - quite a culture shock. Meanwhile, on jet ski, police officer Hugo Benziger is dealing with unregistered vessels that face being fined hundreds of dollars for offences on the water.
