Departing TMS commentator Henry Blofeld: my voice would be "disadvantage" if I were starting today
The seasoned Test Match Special broadcaster says in the new issue of Radio Times, "If I came along now, what would people think of me?"

His voice has been the accompaniment to summer for a generation of cricket fans, but outgoing Test Match Special commentator Henry 'Blowers' Blofeld doubts the BBC would have hired him if he were starting out today.
The 77-year-old broadcaster, who will be retiring from the commentary box after 45 years later this summer, believes his trademark voice would put him at a "disadvantage" if he were applying for a job now.
"If I came along now, what would people think of me?" he says in the latest issue of Radio Times magazine celebrating 60 years of TMS.
