Two old enemies look set for a fresh confrontation in the weeks to come when Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) realises that Nick Cotton (John Altman) is still alive.

Nick's family has been trying to keep his miraculous resurrection a secret from the rest of Albert Square, but Phil is to discover the truth next month and storm round to the Cottons' house. But how will Phil react when he comes face to face with Nick?

Phil's enmity with Nick dates back to 2009 when the pair went head to head over Nick's attempts to blackmail Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick). Nick was extorting money from Billy after overhearing him tell Dot that he'd let Jase Dyer die. Fearing that Nick would tell Jay (Jamie Borthwick), Billy ended up giving Nick regular payments.

But when Phil found out, he beat Nick up and gave Billy the opportunity to kill him. However, Billy instead chose to tell Jay about what had happened and Nick ended up departing in a blaze of fire and mayhem after an explosion at the cafe.

Now, five years on from that stand-off, Phil is to find that Nick is back in Walford. But what will happen when the old sparring partners get to grips with each other again?
