Winona Ryder’s SAG facial expressions have been nominated for an award
Yes, really...

MTV have finally figured out a way into the hearts and minds of the internet generation: memes.
Their new Movie and TV Awards show includes a category called ‘Trending’, which will celebrate the best viral TV moments of the year. A clear frontrunner from the nominees is Winona Ryder’s curious display during the acceptance speech for Stranger Things at the SAG Awards in January.
As her co-star David Harbour delivered an impassioned speech about fighting against bullies and beating bad guys, which seemed to be a call to arms for the artistic resistance against Donald Trump’s presidency, Ryder seemed to experience every human emotion, as seen below.

Other nominees in the Trending category include Melissa McCarthy’s Sean Spicer impression on Saturday Night Live, Lady Gaga’s Carpool Karaoke from James Corden’s Late Late Show and the Wheel of Musical Impressions with Demi Lovato from Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show.
The MTV Movie and TV Awards will take place on Sunday 7th May. Here’s hoping that Stranger Things will bag yet another award.
