Who is the Man in Black in HBO's Westworld?
The most plausible theories about the man with no name
Ed Harris's character in Westworld is a black hat, in every sense of the word. He's both an evil cowboy and is trying to hack Westworld for some nefarious purpose.
That's 'hack' in a literal sense, as in the first episode he set about dismantling the theme park in the most brutal way possible. Like another man in black once said, he killed a Host just to read the map on the inside of his skull.
But who exactly is he? Is he a rogue robot? Is he human? And how does he connect to the original Westworld movie, and the original gunslinger Yul Brynner?
