New reality show The Masked Dancer kicked off with a bang on Saturday night, and unfortunately for one mystery dancer their time on the show was very short-lived.

After finishing in the bottom three with Knicker Bocker Glory and Beetroot, the judges chose to send Viper home – but not before they revealed which famous face had been busting some moves behind the elaborate disguise.

Read on for Viper's true identity – and who the judges guessed was hiding behind that costume.

Who is Viper? Dances, songs, clues, guesses

After dancing to Lenny Kravitz hit Are You Gonna Go My Way, Viper was sent home – and it turned out it was professional dancer and Diversity member Jordan Banjo behind the mask.

Both Mo Gilligan and Oti Mabuse had correctly identified Banjo – but their fellow judges Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall thought he was boxer Anthony Joshua, something that went down well with the eliminated contestant.

"I just want to chuck this out here now, this entire experience was worth it just to be called Anthony Joshua!" he said.

And he added, "The past year everyone has been in a place where it hasn't been fun, and something like The Masked Dancer, and coming on here, dressing up stupid and having a laugh. Let's just have some fun, man."

When is The Masked Dancer on TV?

The first episode aired on Saturday 29th May at 7pm, with episodes continuing on ITV every day this week other than Wednesday.

We have 12 acts all competing in this debut series of The Masked Singer spin-off and all will be hoping that they can become the third masked wearing winner for ITV after both Joss Stone and Nicola Roberts emerged victorious from the two series of the original show.

The Masked Singer has been lined up to replace Britain's Got Talent which has had to take a year-long break due to the COVID pandemic that meant the auditions were unable to take place - hard to put on a giant challenge show when there is no talent to take part.
