To the Crystal Dome! Northern-based fans of beloved 90s game show The Crystal Maze will have a chance to get in on the action, as the Live Experience is heading to Manchester.

The crowd-funded Crystal Maze Live Experience has been a major hit in London since it opened earlier this year. Now, organisers are planning to spread the fun around the country.

The official website promises that Manchester's version of the Maze, which involves contestants completing challenges to earn 'time crystals' and gain time in the Crystal Dome, will open in Spring 2017 with "a new variety of games and bigger and better zones."

A special celebrity episode of The Crystal Maze is also in the works as the show returns to the nation's TV screens for the first time in over 20 years.

Stephen Merchant will host the one-off special for Stand Up To Cancer on Channel 4.

Conveniently, they will be able to use The Crystal Maze Live Experience in London as the TV set.

Contestants including Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan and footballer Rio Ferdinand will take on the Maze on October 21.
