Nothing can halt the ageing process as the Outnumbered kids, sorry, teenagers return to our screens for a fifth series in early 2014.

As we revisit the Brockman family, beleaguered parents Pete (Hugh Dennis) and Sue (Claire Skinner) continue to battle through life both within and outside of their hectic household. Sue has a brand new office job and, predictably, struggles to maintain an aura of composure with her three growing offspring to contend with back home, while Pete is besieged by unreliable technologies.

Jake (Tyger Drew-Honey) is sporting a new tattoo - of sorts - and is getting behind the wheel to learn to drive. Ooh-er. And you might want to purchase your ear muffs now as tone-deaf Ben (Daniel Roche) is set to take the lead in his school play - a musical version of Spartacus.

Karen (Ramona Marquez), once the baby of the family, has taken the decision to no longer be blonde as she starts secondary school and, unsurprisingly, soon finds herself arguing with just about everyone, including her new head teacher. Meanwhile Sue's dreaded sister, Auntie Angela (Samantha Bond), puts in an appearance with a toy boy in tow and her usual wealth of unsolicited opinions.

Written, directed and produced by Drop The Dead Donkey creators, Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin, series five will also see guest appearances from Rebecca Front (The Thick of It) and Harry Shearer (The Simpsons).
