New listeners can now sign up for Audible for just 99p for two months.

Subscribers can gain access to the world's largest collection of audiobooks which normally costs £7.99 a month. If you sign up now you're getting a whole host of spoken-word entertainment at your finger tips for less than a quid. That's a saving of £14.99 over two months.

Audible subscribers also enjoy one free audiobook each month, free Audible Original Podcasts, 80 per cent off selected audiobooks in member-only deals and free exchanges.

Audible's offer comes in good time with plenty of interesting new additions on the platform this summer. Amazon's audiobook offering recently expanded to include award-winning actress Vanessa Redgrave's reprisal of her role in The Year of Magical Thinking, Joan Didion’s Pulitzer Prize-nominated memoir. Another notable recent addition includes Maurice by E.M. Forster, narrated by James Bond star Ben Whishaw.

For more modern titles, some of the most popular audiobooks on the platform include Michelle Obama's Becoming, the engrossing The Stranger's Wife by Anna-Lou Weatherley and narrated by James Lailey and exciting crime thriller They Disappeared by Joy Ellis.

For children, David Walliams' The Midnight Gang is a popular listen and accompanies a whole host of other Walliams titles on the platform.
