The Fortnite Support Team broke the news on Twitter, saying that patches will go live today (30th March) at the same time for each platform.

They said: "Downtime for v16.10 has begun. We’ll let you all know when downtime has ended and services are back up."

This time, the Fortnite servers were down for three hours, but there is good news - the game came back online at about 12 midday GMT, with the server downtime coming to a welcome end!

The quickest way to check whether Fortnite is still online is by going to Epic Games' official server status webpage, which will be always be updated when the game goes offline.

Previously, Fortnite went offline at 4am GMT on Tuesday, 16th March to prepare for season 6.

Whenever there is server downtime, whether you play on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Mobile, PC or Switch, you'll be unable to play while work is carried out.

Thankfully, these breaks in service never last for too long, and they normally coincide with a load of cool new stuff being added to the game for fans to enjoy.

And so, even though Fortnite server downtime can be a little bit frustrating, we all know it's for the greater good. Maybe we'll read a book next time the servers go down, or perhaps we'll look for something else to play instead!
