Starring in the movie, which follows The Office's David Brent 15 years after his time as Wernham Hogg manager, is comedian Ben Bailey Smith (otherwise known as rapper and comedian Doc Brown), Jo Hartley (This is England) and Andrew Brooke (Babylon).

Bailey Smith, who is the brother of novelist Zadie Smith, will play Brent's bandmate Dom, while Hartley takes on the role of a new, love-struck office colleague. Brooke appears as Brent's office nemesis Jezza.

The cast also includes Fresh Meat writer Tom Basden as Dan, Brent’s road manager, Love Actually's Nina Sosanya as his therapist, plus Kevin Bishop, Roisin Conaty, Diane Morgan, Ashley McGuire, Alexander Arnold and Mandeep Dhillon.

The film sees Brent touring with his band Foregone Conclusion in a last-ditch attempt to become a rock star – but keep an eye on his drummer. You may recognise him as Andy Burrows, a member of real-life bands Razorlight and We Are Scientists.

Filming is underway around London and Slough, where so many Office dreams have been made and shattered. Set for release on 19th August 2016, Life on the Road promises to "delve much more into [David Brent's] private life than The Office ever did."
