Model and actress Kelly Brook has revealed that she isn’t at all friendly with Simon Cowell and claims that the media mogul used her for a photo opportunity after she’d been sacked from Britain’s Got Talent in 2009.

Brook appeared in the ITV show’s third series as a judge for just one week before being axed from the programme, reportedly because of producers’ fears about the talent contest becoming too “complicated” with four judges rather than three.

But when asked by Keith Lemon in an interview for FHM why she’d been ousted from BGT, the former Big Breakfast host replied: “I don’t know! I still don’t know.

“I saw Simon Cowell once afterwards. I caught his eye and I thought ‘I’m not going to say hello to him, I can’t be bothered’ and then he kind of just sulked over and sat next to me. Then all of the photographers came and then they took a picture as if we were friends.”

Brook protested that the two were far from close and said that the incident felt “weird.”

She said: “We’re not friends. I didn’t know him before and I’ll probably never meet him again. I don’t understand why he sat next to me for a photo opportunity. I don’t know. It was weird. They’re all weird.

“I’ve been in the business for 15 years. I turn up and I do my job. I’m professional and if I’m not comfortable I’m honest, I’m really straight forward. If it was editing, if it was bad, they could have edited it to make me look good.”

Kelly also insisted that she doesn’t worry about being taken seriously and rather enjoys her role in the media as “the smiley, booby girl.”

“I just roll with it. If you fight against stuff all of the time, you’re going to make yourself miserable,” she said. “So if someone says ‘right, you’re going to be the smiley, girly, booby girl’, you go ‘okay, yes. I’m going to be that and see where that takes you.’ And so far it has taken me all over the world.
