Jonathan Ross has signed a new two-year deal with commercial broadcaster ITV that will see him make a further three series of his chat show.

The deal, believed to be worth around £2m, will see the former BBC presenter host a ten-part series of The Jonathan Ross Show in autumn 2012, and two series of the programme in 2013. It's understood Ross will also present a festive special of the show in both 2012 and 2013.

The first series of The Jonathan Ross Show began on ITV in September 2011 and ran for 13 weeks. A second series is in development and expected to broadcast next spring.

Elaine Bedell, ITV director of entertainment and comedy, said: “Jonathan remains one of the biggest talents on UK television and his first series for us shows that our ITV audience has enthusiastically welcomed him back to our television screens, doing what he does best.”
