IMELDA STAUNTON
Nominated for: Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Mini Series or Movie
Role: Alma Hitchcock in The Girl
Imelda Staunton has received a nomination for her role as director Alfred Hithcock's long-suffering wife Alma in The Girl, which was broadcast on BBC2 last Christmas.
Staunton was nominated for a Bafta for the role but didn't win – will she have better luck up against the likes of Charlotte Rampling and Sarah Paulson?
Her co-star and fellow Brit Toby Jones has also received a nomination (read his bio here), and her husband Jim Carter is nominated too for his role as stoic butler Mr Carson in Downton Abbey (read all about him here).
All of which means Staunton will be in very familiar company come Sunday night, even though this is the 57-year-old Harry Potter actress's first Emmy nomination.
