Former Friends star Courteney Cox and her estranged husband David Arquette are making a comedy pilot about the relationships of a group of friends.

The pair announced their split in October 2010 but have remained friends as well as continuing to run their production company Coquette (get it?) together.

So, this show about some friends by a former star of Friends – is it anything like Friends? Not really, no...

Ten Years is a single-camera comedy (think Curb Your Enthusiasm and the like) and will reportedly follow “the ebb and flow of a [decade-long] relationship for a recently separated couple in the centre of a group of friends and family.”

Given that description, it seems likely Cox and Arquette will be drawing on some personal experiences from their own ten-year relationship.

At the moment, US network NBC has only ordered a pilot – but Coquette will be hoping it leads to a series as long-running and popular as Friends. Although the two shows will, in most other respects, be quite different...
