Coronation Street spoilers: Todd to cause problems for Marcus and Maria, says Charlie Condou

Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Charlie Condou – who plays Marcus in the ITV soap – said: “It’s no secret that Todd is coming back to the street and that he’s going to make waves. It’ll be a big problem for Marcus and Maria. Todd’s not the person he was when he left – he’s had a hard time down in London and he’s come back as a somewhat cynical and difficult person.”

Rumours recently circulated that Todd (Bruno Langley) would bid to steal Marcus away from Maria (Samia Ghadie) and set in motion a fresh love triangle on the cobbles.

Added Condou: “I don’t think anyone has a happy ever after in soap. Everyone wants to see a bit of drama and there’s definitely going to be a lot of that. I welcome it with open arms.”

The 40-year-old actor admitted that 2013 had proven to be a quiet year for both Marcus and Maria, explaining that Ghadie’s appearance on Dancing on Ice had had a big effect on their storylines. But he went on to reveal that the explosive plot concerning Todd is due to start in early 2014: “January or February is when it all begins.”

Bruno Langley, who last made an appearance in 2011, will be back on screens this autumn, with show bosses promising that his presence will “mean heartache for more than one Corrie resident”.
