Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) is to confront homeless Maddie Heath (Amy Kelly) in an upcoming episode, but will she end up getting more than she bargained for?

In scenes to be shown on Friday 31 January, Sophie visits the shelter and is alarmed to see Maddie sporting a bruised face. But Maddie is annoyed to find that Sophie has been checking up on her background and dashes off.

Just wanting to help, Sophie chases after Maddie, but will there be unforeseen consequences as a result of their showdown?

Show boss Stuart Blackburn recently revealed that there is “a long journey” ahead for Sophie and Maddie:
