Gloria (Sue Johnston) and Dennis’s (Philip Lowrie) plans to make it big in the music industry look set to come crashing down next week as rock singer Ritchie (Robin Askwith) reveals that he’s been poached by an international management outfit and is off to pastures new.

One unexpected side-effect of this revelation is Gloria then deciding to also quit Weatherfield, but when Dennis finds out about her intentions, will he too be tempted to go?

Events will come to a head in scenes to be shown on Friday 21 September when Gloria tells Dennis to abandon Rita (Barbara Knox) and join her on a tour of Europe. Showing off in the new sports car that she’s bought for her trip, Gloria revs her engine as she readies herself to leave. So will Dennis be able to resist temptation – or will Rita be left shocked to the core?
