David Walliams has done it again. Last Christmas he charmed telly-watchers with his uplifting, if a little smelly, tale Mr Stink and this year he's set to entertain us with Gangsta Granny, a BBC adaptation of another of his children's stories. Starring Miranda Hart, Julia McKenzie, Joanna Lumley, Rob Brydon and Walliams himself, Gangsta Granny follows a bored boy who discovers his seemingly sweet granny used to be an international jewel thief.

Michael Buble's Christmas Special, 7:15pm, Channel 5

Let master crooner Michael Buble sing away your festive stresses with smooth hits like I'll Be Home for Christmas and Let It Snow. The international star will be joined by Mary J Blige, Mariah Carey and, ahem, the Cookie Monster for corny jokes, sentimentality and, of course, plenty of singing.

Still Open All Hours, 7:45pm, BBC1

David Jason reprises the role of put-upon Granville in this one-off return to the much-loved sitcom. But things have changed since we last popped down the corner shop in 1985. Albert Arkwright's protege now runs the shop with the help of his son Leroy. A host of other familiar faces will return in the episode, written by Open All Hours creator Roy Clarke.

Death Comes to Pemberley, 8:15pm, BBC1

BBC1 returns to Jane Austen's Pemberley six years after Lizzie Bennet and Mr Darcy got their happy ending in this sumptuous adaptation of PD James' bestselling novel. But it's not all social niceties and pretty ball gowns. Lizzie and Darcy are enjoying marital bliss in their enormous country pile, but on the eve of their annual ball, their world is rocked when an unexpected visitor brings news of a murder in the woods...

He's a traditionalist our Len, naming The Two Ronnies and Nigella's cookery shows among his favourites.
