Christmas 2013: best films on TV today, Boxing Day

Glenn Close stars in this update of the original animated classic as a terrifying Cruella De Vil, the infamous fashion-victim who is desperate to turn loads of super cute puppies into a fur coat. Jeff Daniels and Joely Richardson also star. As do lots of very well behaved pups.

Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, 1:05pm, BBC1

It's not Christmas without Wallace and Gromit, now, is it? In this feature length special, the inventor and his faithful dog cash in on the approaching Giant Vegetable Competition by offered humane pest control to rid the neighbourhood of pesky rabbits. Their flourishing business is soon jeopardised, though, when a mysterious monster starts destroying the local gardens...

The Wizard of Oz, 5:15pm, Channel 5

Dorothy, Toto, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Lion skip down the yellow brick road and into our living rooms in this 1939 classic. Still one of the very best children's films, despite being made almost 75 years ago, the film tells the story of Dorothy, who is magically transported into a strange and frightening place full of wicked witches, strange Munchkins and winged monkeys.

Fantastic Mr Fox, 6:10pm, More4

George Clooney lends his dulcet tones to Roald Dahl's Mr Fox in this animated version of one of the author's most-loved tales. When Mr Fox's wife (voiced by Meryl Streep) gives birth to their son he promises that he'll mend his wily chicken-thieving ways. But when the family move to a new home overlooking the farms of Boggis, Bunce and Bean, temptation gets the better of him...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, 7:15pm, ITV

The first part of the film franchise's big finale sees Harry, Ron and Hermione come to terms with their changing world and the loss of beloved friends. Armed with items given to them by headmaster Albus Dumbledore, the magical trio seek to destroy items that contain the secret of Voldemort's power. Look out for part two on New Year's Day.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, 8:00pm, BBC3

Fedoras at the ready. Sean Connery stars as Indy's crotchety dad Henry in the third Indiana Jones movie. When Henry Jones goes missing, Indiana joins the search for his father in a desperate race against time that sees the intrepid explorer come face-to-face with the Holy Grail and the Nazis, no less.
