Mamma Mia! - 7:20pm, ITV2

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - 7:20pm, Channel 4

The final instalment of JRR Tolkien's fantasy trilogy won Peter Jackson the best director Oscar for a powerful conclusion to his blockbuster franchise. The action picks up with Frodo (Elijah Wood) crawling to Mount Doom to finally destroy the coveted ring, meanwhile Aragorn enlists an army of the dead to help Gandalf defend the besieged city of Minas Tirith.

Love Actually - 9:30pm, ITV1

Hold onto the festive spirit with Richard Curtis's delightfully sentimental ensemble rom-com starring Hugh Grant, Bill Nighy, Colin Firth, Martin Freeman and many more. Set in London in the weeks leading up to Christmas day, a star-studded cast depict a range of people from various backgrounds experiencing the highs and lows of being in love.

Wuthering Heights - 11:10pm, Channel 4

Director Andrea Arnold presents an earthy dramatisation of Emily Brontë's 19th century love story featuring Skins actress Kaya Scodelario and James Howson as Cathy and Heathcliff - the star-crossed lovers of the Yorkshire moors.
