Dil Chahta Hai

Three bachelors on the loose become lovesick swains in debuting director Farhan Akhtar's Bollywood romantic comedy. Despite occasionally allowing the action to lapse into travelogue, Akhtar (son of celebrated lyricist Javed Akhtar) raises a few smiles as he details the travails of the romantically inept Saif Ali Khan, sensitive artist Akshaye Khanna and good-time boy Aamir Khan. But once they fall for Sonali Kulkarni (who has been betrothed to another), Dimple Kapadia (still vulnerable from her broken marriage) and Preity Zinta (who wants more than a fling) the tone becomes decidedly melodramatic.
