Flashfire

This thriller starts well enough, with a ferocious blaze and the murder of cop Billy Zane's partner. But invention is at a premium once Zane joins up with his dead partner's girlfriend, feisty hooker Kristin Minter, who witnessed the murder, and they have to rely on their wits to stay one step ahead of Zane's crooked colleagues and a gang of arsonists. Carelessly directed by Elliot Silverstein (whose previous work includes Cat Ballou and A Man Called Horse), this muddled tale of corruption and conspiracy comes to an abrupt and highly unsatisfactory conclusion.
