Fifty Shades author EL James' new novel Grey is a bestseller even before its release
It doesn't hit bookshop shelves until 18th June but that hasn't stopped the new take on the erotic tale making it to the top of the Amazon 100 bestsellers list
EL James already has three best-sellers under her belt. The 53-year-old Brit went from internet fan fiction writer to chart-topping international author in a matter of months, before the first of her steamy Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy was adapted for the big screen. But evidently James isn't happy with kicking back just yet. The writer is releasing another instalment in the franchise later this month.
Titled Grey, the new book will follow Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey's erotic encounters from his perspective. And it's already following in the successful footsteps of its predesessors. In fact, Grey is currently topping Amazon's bestseller chart, despite not being released for another 15 days.
The novel, which tells the Fifty Shades story "in Christian’s own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams", has beaten the likes of Mary Berry's Absolute Favourites, Paula Hawkins' The Girl on the Train and David Nicholls' Us to the top of the Amazon charts, through pre-orders alone.
Four years after the first book's release, we think it's pretty safe to say Fifty Shades fever is still going strong...
